Project Location: Kolkata, West Bengal, India
Project Background Brief
This brand new project in the chic neighbourhood of Kolkata’s Park Street is touted to be a stylishly bold restaurant and bar with interiors inspired by the art deco soul of Kolkata, infused into contemporary design elements. A generous mix of plush and modern materials and a vibrant colour palette bring to life the vivacious essence of Kolkata through its design.
The 6500sq. ft. space has a 60–foot long bar with a larger-than-life curved backlit bottle display. Metal partitions in trendy art deco patterns carve out spaces like the performance area, private dining areas, high chairs and pod seating without creating drastic floor levels.
The flooring is a mix of terrazzo, epoxy and stone with metal inserts and the ceiling design is made of wooden rafter grids in a criss-cross pattern.
A variety of fixture types with high load ratings meant we needed to design a solution which would not only be flexible and reliable but would also provide a unified lighting control solution.
Favourite Project Features
The end result of our lighting control solution was that the client was able to preset different scenarios for different times of the day and was able to operate the system though a wireless keypad and a mobile app. We used these items to provide the client with a simplified lighting control solution.
