Project Background
Sophie Paterson Interiors, celebrated for its sophisticated and elegant designs, has recently revealed a brand new look for their offices. The working environment includes a Sample Library, meeting rooms and the main office/design studio.
John Cullen were invited to develop a lighting design that not only aligned with the luxurious style that Sophie Paterson is renowned for but also to boost functionality and enhance the workspace for Sophie’s design team. Careful consideration was given to each of the different areas to ensure that the correct lighting was specified for the tasks that would be carried out - from accurate colour representation for reviewing textiles and materials in the Sample Library to contour LED strip lights that have been seamlessly integrated into joinery to complement shelves and storage cabinets throughout the office. These provide practical illumination as well as adding warm accent lighting, enhancing the overall ambience of the office space.
Rako System
Rako's lighting control system was specified throughout the office, playing a vital role in the functionality and flexibility of the lighting. The lighting control system utilised Rako’s addressable DALI modules to allow John Cullen to provide precise control of individual light fittings. This capability is a perfect fit for office environments, where tailored task lighting is essential for productivity and allows staff to customise the lighting according to their specific preferences. The Rako system is designed to optimise efficiency, enhance user comfort and promote energy savings.
The Rako app
After the lighting control system was installed, the team at John Cullen were able to fine-tune the lighting levels with ease through the intuitive Rako app. The Rako R1 app allows users to create and customise lighting scenes and effortlessly adjust the ambience to suit any event or occasion. Whether it's a collaborative meeting or a relaxed gathering, the flexibility of the lighting design and Rako’s control system ensures the perfect atmosphere every time.
